Report an allegation of Fraud, Waste, or Abuse

Amtrak has a right to monitor and record computer activities of its employees and contractors. Connecting to the Amtrak network through a personal computer is a privilege granted by Amtrak and entails a reduced expectation of privacy for such use and privilege. Internal employees and contractors who desire confidentiality and want to remain anonymous MUST make their complaint(s) to the OIG in person, by telephone, U.S. mail, or through a computer not connected to Amtrak’s network, such as a computer located at a public library or private home.

The summary should be brief, but accurate statement of the specific facts you believe indicate wrongdoing. Be as specific as possible as possible about the location of the incident, and the time(s) the activity occurred. The OIG investigates fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement within or affecting Amtrak’s operations, whether committed by employees, contractors, and/or third parties. We want to know about any person or entity that steals from Amtrak or its contractors or the Government; fails to protect company assets; provides Amtrak with inferior or substandard products or services; engages in kickbacks, bribes, gratuities, procurement fraud, cheating, and/or double billing; violation of law, rules or regulations, and systems or processes which are being mismanaged or abused. Give the names of the individual(s), companies, or other entities involved, including addresses or office locations. Tell us if you heard from someone else, or if you saw what occurred or were asked to perform an act that struck you as wrong.

You may report either anonymously or by providing your identity. However, the OIG will not be able to contact you if additional information about your complaint is necessary. If you choose to remain anonymous, do not provide this information.
